Assoc .Dr. Şeref Başal

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeref Başal was born in 1971 in Kırıkkale, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in Kırıkkale before enrolling in Maltepe Military High School in 1984, from which he graduated in 1988. He pursued his medical education at GATA Military Medical Academy from 1988 to 1994, graduating in 1994.

After completing his internship at GATA Training Hospital in 1994-1995, Dr. Başal served as the chief medical officer at the Siirt and Batman Gendarmerie Regional Commands between 1995 and 1997. From November 2010 to November 2011, he completed a clinical fellowship in Uro-Oncology at the Cancer Center of Columbia University in New York, USA, where he also received training in urological robotic surgery. In October 2011, he earned the “Console Surgeon” certification in robotic surgery at the da Vinci Training Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.
