Nose filler is performed to enhance the nose area, which is located at the center of the face and draws all attention to itself. Our nose has a significant impact on the overall appearance of the face; its shape defines our facial aesthetics, expressions, and image. Having an ideal nose is important for a person to appear beautiful and impactful.

The application of nose filler allows individuals to achieve their ideal nose. It is possible to attain a youthful, smooth, symmetrical, proportionate, and ideally sized nose appearance through a non-surgical, risk-free, and comfortable nose filler procedure.

What is Nose Filler?

Nose filler is a treatment for individuals who are unhappy with deformities such as a thin nose, a hooked nose, or a low nasal tip. The purpose of nose filler is to harmonize the nose with the facial features and correct any deformities.

A thin nose makes the face appear rounder than it actually is. A hooked nose prevents the eyes from standing out and is perceived as larger than it is. A low nasal tip creates a negative image while speaking or smiling. In contrast, an upturned nose gives the face an aesthetic and friendly appearance.

Through the application of nose filler, individuals can overcome all these deformities and negative images, achieving an aesthetic nose appearance along with a positive image and expression effect. A well-defined, proportionate nose provides a person with an attractive and presentable look.

Who is Nose Filler Suitable For?

Nose filler is applied to individuals whose nose structure has become deformed due to genetic traits, various illnesses, trauma, or aging. The following conditions must also be met to perform nose filler:

  • Being at least 18 years old
  • No risk of allergic reactions
  • Not being a cancer patient
  • Not being pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Not having a chronic illness
  • Not having a large nose
  • Not having a deviated septum

Nose filler is also a suitable method for those who cannot undergo surgery or prefer not to have surgery. Additionally, individuals who want to experience how their nose will look before surgery can also benefit from fillers to simulate the post-operative appearance.

How is Nose Filler Applied?

The individual dissatisfied with the appearance of their nose is first examined by a doctor. The nose structure is assessed, and the degree of deformity is determined. After establishing that the filler procedure will provide a solution, the dosage, injection points, and the desired appearance of the nose are planned.

Following the agreement on this plan between the patient and the doctor, the nose area is numbed with an anesthetic cream. The hyaluronic acid-based filler is then injected into the predetermined points. The procedure takes about 10-15 minutes, after which the individual can immediately return to their daily activities. Nose filler is a practical and comfortable procedure, with the desired nose appearance typically achieved within 7-10 days.

Where is Nose Filler Applied?

Nose filler is applied to different areas based on the individual’s needs:

  • For individuals with a nasal hump, filler is applied to the lower, upper, and side areas of the nasal bone to conceal the hump. By eliminating the curvature on the nose, a straight appearance is achieved.
  • For individuals with a low nasal tip, filler is applied to the tip of the nose to lift it. With the use of nose tip filler, the tip is elevated, resulting in a more harmonious and aesthetic appearance with the face.
  • For individuals with nasal asymmetry, filler is applied to correct the imbalance. Through the use of nose filler, a symmetrical and proportionate nose is achieved.
  • In cases of nasal depression, loss of nasal tissue, or thinning of the nose caused by various factors, the necessary areas of the nose are filled with filler to achieve an aesthetic and smooth appearance.
  • Deformities such as gaps and shape irregularities in the nose caused by impacts, trauma, or accidents can be corrected by applying nose filler to the necessary areas, resulting in a smooth and well-defined nose.

What Should Be Considered After Nose Filler?

In cases of swelling or redness that may occur after nose filler, cold compresses and/or gentle massage can be applied with the doctor’s approval. Such effects are considered normal and typically subside within 1-2 days. The following precautions should be taken after the filler application:

  • The nose area should be protected from impacts.
  • Hot baths should be avoided, and entry into steam-filled environments should be prohibited.
  • Sun exposure should be avoided.
  • Plenty of water should be consumed.
  • Sleeping on one’s stomach should be avoided.
  • No cosmetics should be applied to the nose area.
  • Glasses should not be worn for 1-2 days after fillers applied to the nasal hump.
  • Strenuous activities should be avoided.
  • Blood-thinning medications should not be used, and herbal teas should be avoided.

Is Nose Filler Permanent?

Nose filler typically lasts between 16-18 months. During this time, the filler content gradually dissolves and is absorbed by the body. Once the filler is completely gone, the nose returns to its previous state. If desired, the individual can choose to have the filler reapplied. Since nose filler is harmless and risk-free, there are no limits on its application.

What Are the Advantages of Nose Filler?

The benefits and advantages of nose filler include:

  • The low nasal tip is elevated, resulting in a more aesthetic appearance with an upturned nose.
  • The appearance of a hooked nose is eliminated, resulting in a straight and proportionate nose.
  • By using nose filler, individuals can overcome various nasal deformities such as nasal asymmetry, disproportionate distance between the upper lip and nose, incompatibility of the nose with the face, disproportionate distance between the nose and forehead, a very narrow nose, a crooked nose, and other shape irregularities, achieving a proportional, symmetrical, smooth, and aesthetic nose.
  • Nose filler is a more cost-effective procedure compared to nose surgery.
  • Nose filler is a risk-free, harmless, and painless procedure.
  • Nose filler has a longevity of 16-18 months.
  • There are no scars left after nose filler.
  • Nose filler is a procedure that provides quick results, is easy to perform, and is practical.

Is Nose Filler Risky?

The risk associated with nose filler arises from the proximity of blood vessels in the nose to the brain. A mistake during the filler procedure could potentially lead to blindness.

It is crucial that the nose filler procedure is performed by an experienced and skilled doctor. Any potential risks will be identified by the doctor before the procedure, preventing complications or leading to the decision not to proceed with the treatment. Therefore, procedures performed by inexperienced individuals or non-doctors can result in both functional loss of the nose and poor aesthetic outcomes.

Nose filler must be performed by specialists in clinics, medical centers, or hospitals approved by the Ministry of Health.

Does Nose Filler Affect Sense of Smell?

Nose filler does not interfere with the smell receptors in the nose. There is no situation that would hinder the sense of smell. The sense of smell remains unaffected; only the appearance of the nose is changed.

Will There Be Breathing Difficulties After Nose Filler?

Nose filler is performed to provide a more aesthetic appearance. If the individual has complaints about breathing beyond aesthetic concerns, the underlying causes of breathing difficulties should be identified and addressed accordingly.

Nose filler can temporarily alleviate issues that make breathing difficult and can help the individual breathe more easily. However, if the deformity of the nose is severe, nose filler may not be beneficial. In such cases, a rhinoplasty may be needed to provide a solution.

Will There Be Scars After Nose Filler?

Since no incisions are made and no stitches are used in the nose filler procedure, there will be no scarring. There will be no visible marks or signs of filler application on the nose area after the procedure.

Can Nose Filler Be Applied After Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is performed to change the shape of the nose, address structural issues, and make the nose both functional and aesthetic.

While rhinoplasty corrects deformed areas of the nose, the desired shape may not always be achieved. In such cases, nose filler can be applied after rhinoplasty to give the nose the desired shape. It is advisable to wait until the effects of the surgery have diminished and the final shape of the nose has stabilized. Approximately one year after surgery is considered an ideal time for nose filler application to revise the nose shape and correct any imperfections.

Is Non-Surgical Nose Aesthetics Done with Nose Filler?

Nose filler is also known as non-surgical nose aesthetics. To apply nose filler, the deformity of the nose must be suitable for this procedure. Some deformities can only be corrected surgically. Whether the individual is suitable for nose filler will be determined by a plastic surgeon after an examination.

Can Nose Filler Be Dissolved?

If an individual is dissatisfied with the results of nose filler, it is possible to dissolve the filler and restore the nose to its previous state. The hyaluronic acid in the filler can be quickly dissolved by injecting hyaluronidase into the nose. Once the filler is rapidly eliminated from the body, the nose returns to its original state. If desired, the individual can choose to have the filler reapplied. The dissolution process must be performed by an experienced and skilled doctor.

Does Nose Filler Make the Nose Larger?

Generally, 1 syringe (1 ml) of filler is used for nose filler. In exceptional cases, more filler may be required. While nose filler helps smaller and medium-sized noses achieve their ideal size and conceal deformities, applying filler to very large noses can make them appear even larger; therefore, filler is not applied to large noses.
